A KML (Keyhole Markup Language) file is an XML-based file format for representing geographical information. Nearmap currently supports a subset of the KML feature set, so KML files created in Google Earth may not be represented the same way in the MapBrowser.
To upload a KML
- From the Tools dropdown in the MapBrowser, select Data.
- Select My Data.
- Click Import KML.
- Browse to your KML file and click Open.
Note: MapBrowser supports KML files up to 16MB. It is recommended to limit the size of the uploaded file where possible, to ensure a better MapBrowser experience.
The KML file will automatically appear in a new layer in My Data and display in the MapBrowser.
You may add multiple files. Each file will appear in its own layer.
To manage the layers you created by uploading KMLs, see My Data: Manage your data layers.
